24-year-old killed in Highway 99 crash near Sacramento-San Joaquin county line<\/p>\n

Lanes on Highway 99 have reopened after a deadly multi-vehicle crash involving big rigs Wednesday afternoon. The crash impacted traffic for nearly 10 hours in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties. <\/p>\n

California Highway Patrol said the crash involved two big rigs and two pickup trucks around 12:50 p.m. on southbound Highway 99 south of Jahant Road in the Galt area.<\/p>\n

At least one person died in the crash. A woman on the scene told KCRA 3’s Anahita Jafary that her son, 24-year-old Jonathan Cervantes Torres, was killed. <\/p>\n

Roads reopened around 10:40 p.m. Caltrans maps showed traffic was impacted from Acampo to Galt.<\/p>\n

Details have not been released on what prompted the crash and the extent of any other injuries. <\/p>\n
