<\/a>SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014<\/strong><\/p>\nJoneck’s Wine Lounge & Bottle Shop and East Village Bookshop in midtown Sacramento were the targets of break-ins on Wednesday morning that were captured by surveillance footage. <\/p>\n
Joneck\u2019s owner Renee Jones said an alarm woke her early Wednesday. When she checked the live security feed on her phone, she realized someone was moving through her business.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes we get false alarms,\u201d Jones said. \u201cNo, there was somebody running in the space.\u201d<\/p>\n
Surveillance video shared with KCRA 3 shows a person breaking a window and entering the wine lounge around 4:35 a.m. The person, wearing primarily black clothing, a hood and a backpack, then moved behind the bar.<\/p>\n
Jones said she called 911 and attempted to warn the person through her security camera\u2019s microphone.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Get out. I\u2019m calling the police. Get out now. We are recording you,\u2019\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n
Jones said the person took a case containing camera equipment and a portable speaker system before riding away. She estimated the stolen property and damage would cost between $5,000 and $6,000. <\/p>\n
East Village Bookshop said its surveillance footage showed a break-in happened at 4:28 a.m. <\/p>\n
Bookstore employee Jalila Chehab said the person went directly to the cash register, forced it open and stuffed money into their pockets. She estimated that several hundred dollars were taken.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re a small business, and the other business is a small business,\u201d Chehab said. \u201cNow we\u2019re just going to have to fix the door and do all this stuff. It\u2019s just sad.\u201d<\/p>\n
The business planned to remain closed until its damaged front door could be repaired.<\/p>\n
The Sacramento Police Department confirmed that officers responded to reports of a burglary in the 2200 block of J Street around 4:30 a.m. Another burglary took place in the same block around the same time, but at a different suite, police said.<\/p>\n
The Sacramento Police Department said there were were a total nine burglaries in the area, including the wine lounge and bookstore, that happened from the night of Aug. 31 to the early morning of Sept. 2.<\/p>\n
According to police, the burglaries happened at the following locations:<\/p>\n

- 2500 block of J Street<\/li>\n
- 2200 block of J Street<\/li>\n
- 600 block of 20th Street<\/li>\n
- 1200 block of F Street<\/li>\n
- 1700 of J Street<\/li>\n
- 900 block of 11th Street<\/li>\n
- 200 block of Dos Rios Street<\/li>\n
- 1000 block of 16th Street<\/li>\n
- 1100 block of 16 Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Police said there is no suspect information at this time.<\/p>\n
