{"id":1041875,"date":"2026-09-04T01:09:39","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T01:09:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1041875\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T01:09:39","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T01:09:39","slug":"man-has-eye-gouged-out-during-wild-clash-on-brooklyn-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1041875\/","title":{"rendered":"Man has eye gouged out during wild clash on Brooklyn street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A car crash led to a savage brawl on the streets of Brooklyn, where a stabbing victim gouged out his rival\u2019s eye before collapsing in a pool of his own blood Thursday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/08\/04\/nypd-record-low-shootings-murders-first-seven-months-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">police<\/a> and witnesses said.<\/p>\n<p>The struggle kicked off shortly after a 47-year-old man crashed his car into a 46-year-old man\u2019s vehicle near Shepherd and New Lots Aves. in East New York around 11 a.m., police said.<\/p>\n<p>The older man got out of his vehicle and stabbed the pedestrian in the stomach, who in turn chased his attacker down, beat him, and gouged out his opponent\u2019s eye, according to cops and witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear what sparked the crash. Police sources said the two men knew each other and the bloody clash stemmed from an ongoing dispute between them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"According to witnesses, a man driving a black Nissan Altima sedan with a female passenger in tow was being pursued by another man driving an older model beige Lexus sedan eastbound on New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn on Thursday September 3, 2026. 1153. As the Altima tried to turn right onto Elton Street, the pursuing Lexus struck the rear of the Altima, causing it to mount the sidewalk where it made contact with a small tree. As the Altima backed off and tried to leave, the Lexus partially mounted the sidewalk and struck the driver door of the Altima. All occupants of both vehicles then exited and engaged in a physical fight, with the woman from the Altima at one point pulling a gun from a bag as her accomplice yelled 'Give me the Gun'. No shots were fired. The driver of the Altima then took off running westbound on New lots Avenue, with the bleeding driver of the Lexus in hot pursuit. The Lexus driver caught up with his adversary just past 866 New Lots Avenue and, while gushing blood from his wounds, managed to get the upper hand and gouged out the left eye of his adversary while screaming 'You tried to kill me', before dropping it on the sidewalk. The Lexus driver then collapsed between parked cars a few feet away. It was not immediately clear who was driving which car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard the sound of the wheels and the bang, the crash. The car went up on the sidewalk and hit a tree,\u201d a 22-year-old witness told the Daily News. \u201cThe two guys get out and start screaming at one another. It was pure profanity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A moment later, the witness saw the two men sprinting down the street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of them was stabbed, and he was running down the street bleeding, holding his side,\u201d the witness said. \u201cHe was chasing the other guy. He was giving the sprint his all, chasing the other guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A second nearby resident told The News he\u2019d gone outside to smoke a cigarette when he heard the sound of screeching tires in the distance and then looked over to see two men running up the street \u2014 one of them bleeding profusely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt looked like they were running towards us,\u201d said George Ylitalo, 35. \u201cI saw the guy coming down that way and the dude chasing behind him with blood gushing out of him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The chase lasted three blocks before the fleeing older man ducked behind a parked car, only for his wounded pursuer to leap atop the vehicle, Ylitalo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish I had a video. It was absolutely insane,\u201d the witness said. \u201cThis guy was determined to get the guy who stabbed him. I have to give it to him. (Theodore Parisienne \/ New York Daily News)<\/p>\n<p>The man on the ground tried to ward off his pursuer with a traffic cone, but the stabbing victim managed to evade the blow before tackling the man below.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe guy dodged it and got on top of him. He really was wailing on him,\u201d said Ylitalo.<\/p>\n<p>It was amid the beating that followed that Ylitalo heard a blood-curdling scream, which Ylitalo realized only later was the wailing of a man whose eye had just been ripped from its socket.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t like a regular type of, \u2018Ow ow, my face.\u2019 I don\u2019t really know how to explain it. It\u2019s very rare you hear a man scream like that,\u201d the witness said.<\/p>\n<p>After gouging his opponent\u2019s eye, the stabbing victim got up and took a few steps before collapsing in the street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe fell in between two cars,\u201d Ylitalo said.\u00a0\u201cHe was barely conscious. The amount of blood that was coming out of him, it was theatrical, bro.
