{"id":1041881,"date":"2026-09-04T01:13:58","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T01:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1041881\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T01:13:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T01:13:58","slug":"influencers-defend-mamdani-give-insight-into-secret-groups-coordination-with-city-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1041881\/","title":{"rendered":"Influencers defend Mamdani \u2014 give insight into secret group&#8217;s coordination with City Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/02\/us-news\/mamdanis-200-strong-influencer-army-revealed-blurring-lines-between-campaign-and-job\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lefty influencers in the Mamdani administration\u2019s secret group chat<\/a> rushed to defend the mayor Thursday \u2014 happily admitting that they gladly parrot his talking points to their followers under the guise of news.<\/p>\n<p>One progressive, anti-Trump Instagram account with 1.1 million followers \u201cVote In Or Out\u201d outed its ties to City Hall \u2014 as the creator bragged about how<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/02\/us-news\/meet-mamdanis-influencer-army-teachers-tiktokkers-and-a-self-proclaimed-dandy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> successful she\u2019s been churning out the admin\u2019s spin.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI genuinely do not know how such a small team manages to communicate with so many of us,\u201d 48-year-old Brooklynite Lisa Chin Mollica, who runs the account, gushed to her followers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Zohran Mamdani with influencer Megan Klink (left) \u2014 one of the pro-Mamdani influencers in a group chat set up by City Hall to provide administration talking points. Instagram<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a constant stream of information, events, policies,\u201d she wrote, adding \u201cand I am genuinely happy to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mollica said she has regular, often direct contact with City Hall\u2019s media team, which supplies her with a \u201cconstant stream\u201d of policy information, event notices, background and access.<\/p>\n<p>A description in the account\u2019s bio claims to post \u201cnews\u201d among other \u201cperspectives\u201d and even created a <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@voteinorout\/first-of-its-kind-app-vote-in-or-out-aims-to-allow-every-voter-to-be-the-change-they-seek-in-46a99b011e4d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">non-partisan, fact-checked voter guide <\/a>during the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>But sandwiched in between a barrage of anti-Trump and anti-ICE messaging are hyper-local Mamdani administration talking points with captions that read like a press release from the mayor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew York City introduces its first comprehensive AI policy for public schools,\u201d a caption on a Sept. 2 post reads along with a clip of Hizzoner at his press conference announcing a<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/02\/us-news\/mamdani-announces-ai-ban-in-nyc-schools-this-year-but-there-are-some-exemptions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> moratorium on generative artificial intelligence for city students.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lisa Chin Mollica, a Brooklyn woman who runs the \u201cVote In Or Out\u201d Instagram page, said she is \u201chappy\u201d to be a part of Mamdani\u2019s digital creator Signal chat.<\/p>\n<p>Mollica, who said she has \u201cnever been paid\u201d by the Mamdani team, described an outreach operation where City Hall employees \u2014 on taxpayer dime \u2014 contact her often, sometimes directly by text, to give \u201cbackground and access\u201d that helps her account reach New Yorkers with the administration\u2019s preferred messaging.<\/p>\n<p>One user clapped back in the comments of Mollica\u2019s post explaining she doesn\u2019t do paid work for the Mamdani administration: \u201cYou might not work for Mamdani, but the bias is very much real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her account also reposted content from some of the other nearly 200 influencers in City Hall\u2019s group chat on the encrypted app Signal \u2014 which was revealed this week in a bombshell report by the Columbia Journalism Review and is now <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/03\/us-news\/nyc-council-to-grill-mamdani-admin-over-use-of-influencers-encrypted-messaging-app\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">set to be the subject of a City Council oversight hearing Sept. 22.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Post\u2019s cover on Mamdani\u2019s influencer network.<\/p>\n<p>The CJR researchers also found that some of the digital content producers had been paid by city agencies for outreach campaigns, but had little detail on the contracts, and Mamdani\u2019s team didn\u2019t answer questions beyond defending the use of Signal.<\/p>\n<p>The administration also ignored inquires Thursday about whether it activated its spin Signal machine to counter coverage of the CJR report, including in The Post\u2019s front-page story.<\/p>\n<p>Other influencers also happily admitted to being part of Mamdani\u2019s secret network of content creators after his admin\u2019s social media coordination via the \u201cNYC Creators Announcement\u201d chat was outed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/Dc1XLvCxdZr\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cassie Willson proudly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/Dc1XLvCxdZr\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">posted<\/a> a screenshot to her 314,000 followers on Instagram Thursday of a fake-looking check for $10,000 she quipped she received as payment from the Mamdani campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they had actually done their research, they would have found this very real check that I have in my New York City apartment that I got from the Mamdani campaign,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She then gushed that since becoming mayor, Mamdani\u2019s team has done \u201can amazing job of connecting with a bunch of New York City-based creators to tell us about stuff that\u2019s going on in the administration like when they roll out new policies or programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA program or policy is only as good as the number of people who know about it, right?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Willson also came to Mamdani\u2019s rescue after the mayor was heavily criticized for leaving Little Italy off his immigrant enclave map. After the scandal broke <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DarKx2lR5nx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Willson made a<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DarKx2lR5nx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">post<\/a> poking fun of the Italian festival in Williamsburg for not being \u201cauthentic\u201d since it included cuisine like funnel cakes and empanadas.<\/p>\n<p>Influencer Cassie Willson proudly campaigned for  Mayor Zohran Mamdani.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson said the Mamdani administration has done \u201can amazing job\u201d connecting creators and providing information on City Hall initiatives.  Cassie Willson \/ Instagram<\/p>\n<p>It was unclear if City Hall had fed Willson talking point to give the mayor cover.<\/p>\n<p>Another influencer who came forward, Ariana Afshar, in one breath claimed she simply \u201ccovers the news\u201d and in another professed her \u201cgenuine\u201d love for the Mamdani administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just cover the news and anything I say is because I genuinely love Mamdani\u2019s administration,\u201d Afshar, 30, whose LinkedIn said she lives in the Bay Area, California, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dc1PNifC4vv\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">wrote in a post Thursday<\/a> to her 433,000 followers on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Influencer Ariana Afshar appearing in an Instagram video with Mamdani earlier this year. @arianajasmine___ \/ Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Miral Sattar, a 47-year-old publishing entrepreneur behind the book-focused Instagram account @miralreads, admitted she works with the Mamdani administration, but said officials don\u2019t dictate what she posts about. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes I ask them for clips because I saw something I want to cover,\u201d Sattar said, adding that she\u2019s been supporting Mamdani since the beginning of his mayoral campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was posting about Zohran before he was mayor. My kids and I canvassed for him when he was polling at basically 1%,\u201d Sattar gushed on Instagram to her more than 28,000 followers.<\/p>\n<p>Miral Sattar claimed that the Mamdani administration provides her with clips for her videos.
