GEDDES, N.Y. \u2014 The Latino Village will be a permanent location at the Great New York State Fair in 2027. The location is a spot to celebrate Latino food, music and culture.<\/p>\n
Fair Director Julei LaFave made the announcement on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Latino Village Superintendent Elisa Morales said the village is a “fiesta.” She said its presence is important at the fair due to it being an educational opportunity where people can both learn from and celebrate Latino culture.<\/p>\n
“I believe Latinos add the spice to America’s melting pot,” said Morales, announcing the extended opening for next year. “You can dispute with me later, but that’s what I think.”<\/p>\n
LaFave said the Latino Village was set up on Sept. 2. She said it was impressive how organizers managed to set up the whole village.<\/p>\n
“It’s not easy,” said LaFave. “The fact that they can do this doesn’t surprise me, but it’s inspiring.”<\/p>\n
The Latino Village is located on the east side of the fairgrounds. This year, it’s open from Sept. 2 to 7.<\/p>\n
