After a months-long wait, college football fans will finally hear things directly from the source.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t watch sporting activities without wanting to have something at stake, wanting to have some skin on the game,\u201d Sorsby says in the docuseries, describing his gambling habits before transferring from Cincinnati to Texas Tech.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever I got to Tech, same deal. Making more money than I ever made in my life, no reason to gamble. And yet I still did it. Just chasing a dopamine hit, and that\u2019s where you lose yourself. \u2026 I\u2019m walking around the facility and nobody knows that I have a problem gambling. Once I got found out and got caught, I went to rehab to fix my problem. And here we are.\u201d<\/p>\n

On April 27<\/a>, Sorsby announced he was taking a leave of absence from the Red Raiders to enter a treatment program for a gambling addiction. The NCAA began investigating him for impermissible betting on the same day, leading to a lengthy court battle for the Lake Dallas product <\/a>to regain his eligibility.\u00a0Sorsby was ultimately deemed eligible to play (before he parted ways with the program and entered the NFL supplemental draft), a decision that drew the ire of many across the college football landscape.<\/p>\n

The process involving Sorsby became the through line of Texas Tech’s offseason and, according to The Athletic, serves the same purpose for the four episodes of the docuseries. Cody Campbell<\/a>, the Red Raider’s super booster who made plenty of public comments in support of his alma mater this summer, said he has no regrets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLooking back on it, I know that Texas Tech and I handled everything with integrity, and we did things the right way,\u201d Campbell said in the docuseries.\u00a0\u201cI think this is something that could have been handled much more privately. We\u2019re not going to forget about that, and I don\u2019t think they\u2019ll forget about it either when we\u2019re up by 40 and still throwing the ball in the fourth quarter.
