Central Texans might want to come up with an indoor Plan B for any holiday festivities this Labor Day weekend amid the\u00a0latest forecast projections.<\/a><\/p>\n

The National Weather Service’s Austin and San Antonio office issued\u00a0its long-term area forecast during the early morning hours of Thursday, September 3, detailing\u00a0low to medium\u00a0rain and storm chances<\/a> across the greater Central Texas region. The possibility of rainier conditions could dampen any outdoor plans Texans have to ring in the long weekend.<\/p>\n

NWS’ Austin and San Antonio office is forecasting a 15% to 45% chance of rain and storms from Friday night, September 4 through Wednesday, September 9. The potential storm zone primarily runs along the Interstate 35 corridor and extends eastward through the coastal plains. However, experts added that isolated rain showers and storms could arise across both the Southern Edwards Plateau and the western portion of the Hill Country on Saturday, September 5.<\/p>\n

Aside from the potential inclement weather, temperature highs are expected to linger between the low 90s and approximately 100\u00b0, while lows will dip back into the 70s.<\/p>\n

As for the pre-weekend conditions, NWS forecasters are looking at rain chances hovering between 20% and 40% on Friday afternoon, September 4, across a larger swath of Central and South Texas.<\/p>\n
