At the STM transit agency, meditation and yoga remain permitted in employee reflection rooms, but religious practices are not.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those distinctions are now part of the application of Quebec\u2019s strengthened secularism law.<a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/provincial-news\/provincial-politics\/bill-9-opponents-vow-to-continue-fight-after-secularism-law-expanded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> Bill 9 was adopted in April,<\/a> but a key provision that took effect Sept. 1 prohibits individual and collective religious practices in premises, buildings and grounds under the authority of institutions covered by the law, subject to specific exceptions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what does that mean in practice?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"At Concordia University, there are no longer any spaces set aside for prayer.
