\n\tNearly six months later, Taylor Frankie Paul<\/a> is recalling her almost happy ever after her season of The Bachelorette<\/a> was shelved.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a clip from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/a>, the MomTok influencer discussed the similarities between her ex Dakota Mortenson and contestant Doug Mason, whom she ultimately chose on Season 2 of the ABC<\/a> dating show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd yes, he did get down on one knee and proposed, which I was shocked,\u201d she said in a clip shared on the Get Real<\/a> podcast. \u201cHe told me [he wasn\u2019t going to propose]. We weren\u2019t planning on doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPaul confirmed she accepted Mason\u2019s proposal. \u201cYes, yes I did. And then I come home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMason previously shared a statement<\/a> after ABC pulled the plug<\/a> on Paul\u2019s season of The Bachelorette on March 19, just ahead of its planned premiere on March 22, after a 2023 video surfaced of her throwing a stool at Mortensen and hitting one of her children. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIn light of everything that\u2019s happened, I\u2019m just sending out prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked,\u201d said Mason. \u201cAll we can do right now is be hopeful. Let\u2019s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn May, Disney\u2019s reality TV chief Rob Mills said the company is taking it \u201cday-to-day<\/a>\u201d on whether or not to release the season.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Salt Lake City District Attorney\u2019s Office dropped the charges against Paul<\/a> in April. Paul had already entered a guilty plea on one count of aggravated assault for the dust-up with Mortensen in 2024. More allegations against Paul emerged in late March after the unscripted romance series was shelved.<\/p>\n

\n\tPaul remains under ongoing probation, which could have been revoked if DA Gill had decided to pursue further charges, for which a five-year prison sentence was also possible for a third-degree felony.<\/p>\n
