D\u2019Andra Simmons is battling breast cancer.<\/p>\n
The \u201cReal Housewives of Dallas\u201d alum revealed her diagnosis<\/a> on social media as she prepared to undergo surgery.<\/p>\n Simmons shared a picture of herself at the UTSW Simmons Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas, a place that holds special meaning for her.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t think I would be the recipient of care at the UTSW Simmons Cancer Center my uncle Harold Simmons and his Foundation established almost 30 years ago, but now I have breast cancer,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n D\u2019Andra Simmons revealed she has breast cancer on her Instagram Tuesday. dandrasimmons\/Instagram<\/p>\n The \u201cReal Housewives of Dallas\u201d alum had her husband, Jeremy Lock, and her mother, Dee Simmons, with her for support as she underwent surgery. dandrasimmons\/Instagram<\/p>\n \u201cI am truly grateful to have such an excellent care team in place. I\u2019m the 3rd woman on my mother\u2019s side of the family to be diagnosed with breast cancer\u2026that we know about,\u201d she continued. \u201cAfter today, I will add breast cancer survivor to a long list of life experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n Simmons, 56, underwent three procedures and shared her experience via her Instagram Stories. It\u2019s a busy, packed morning.\u201d<\/p>\n Her last update was her on a hospital bed surrounded by Lock, her surgeon Deboroh Farr \u2014 whom she shared was a good friend of hers \u2014 and her mother, Dee Simmons.<\/p>\n \u201cAlmost ready to get this surgery started!\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n D\u2019Andra kept her followers updated throughout the day. dandrasimmons\/Instagram<\/p>\n She was on seasons 2-5 of \u201cRHOD\u201d alongside Brandi Redmond, LeeAnne Locken, Stephanie Hollman, Kameron Westcott and Kary Brittingham. In 2021, she told Page Six she was suffering long-term side effects<\/a> from having COVID-19.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m really scared about the fatigue because \u2026 I\u2019m having a hard time sleeping,\u201d she told us at the time. \u201cSo then if I don\u2019t sleep, I can\u2019t get the rest I need for healing. And also the body aches are lingering. As far as the memory loss, I haven\u2019t had as much of that as my husband has, but that\u2019s my biggest fear in the world, is losing my cognitive ability.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t
