Katy Perry has opened up about her split from her ex-fiance Orlando Bloom<\/a>, calling it \u201cprobably the hardest time\u201d.<\/p>\n

The \u201cFirework\u201d singer<\/a>, 41, and the British Pirates of the Caribbean actor ended their relationship in 2025<\/a> after nine years together. They share a six-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with People magazine, Perry recalled being in Australia when the news of the split became public.<\/p>\n

\u201dMy friends were all hanging out back home. I was crying and just feeling far away. But then my angels went to work. They really showed up,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Just weeks after her parting from Bloom was revealed, Perry met her current partner, former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.<\/a><\/p>\n

Discussing the conclusion of her time with Bloom, Perry added: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have stayed in something for nine years if there wasn\u2019t really important things to learn. Each relationship is a teacher, right?<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to let it go so I could move forward. I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it: Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece \u2013 then it showed up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bloom previously addressed the end of their relationship during an appearance on the Today show, emphasising that he and Perry remain on good terms.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so grateful. We have the most beautiful daughter. We\u2019re great. We\u2019re going to be great. Nothing but love,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Perry and Trudeau, 55, first sparked romance rumours in July after they were seen dining together at a restaurant in Montreal<\/a>, Canada.<\/p>\n

The following night, Trudeau was spotted in the crowd at Perry\u2019s Lifetime Tour concert in the city with his teenage daughter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pair went public with their relationship<\/a> in October 2025. They made their red carpet debut together in June at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour \u2013 Live from Paris.<\/p>\n

Trudeau and his ex-wife, Sophie Gr\u00e9goire, legally separated in August 2023 following 18 years of marriage, and currently share joint custody of their three children.<\/p>\n

In April, Trudeau\u2019s eldest son, 18-year-old singer Xavier<\/a>, gave his stamp of approval to Perry, saying on an episode of the Can\u2019t Be Censored podcast, \u201cShe\u2019s super nice. She\u2019s super down to earth. She\u2019s great. I think that my dad\u2019s happy, so that\u2019s important.\u201d<\/p>\n

Xavier revealed that his own relationship with Perry has blossomed to the point of seeking career advice from her. \u201cWhen I\u2019m really happy with a song, [I] send it [to her],\u201d he said. \u201cShe\u2019s always happy to give me advice or tell me what I should change.\u201d<\/p>\n
