Jewell Loyd<\/a> dropped some huge personal news on Instagram this week that caught fire across social media. The Las Vegas Aces guard announced her engagement to former college standout Natalija Marshall. Looking at the photos posted by Jewell Loyd and Marshall, the emotions were high. Tears were shed, and happiness was the most recurring theme.<\/p>\n

Social Media being as such, the reaction poured<\/a> in buckets as both fans and prominent personalities flooded the comments with congratulations and well wishes. What caught our eyes was the name of tennis household name, Coco Gauff, dropping a simple but likely heartfelt, “congratulations.”<\/p>\n

The couple crossed paths at the Notre Dame basketball program where Jewell Loyd had been carving up the path to the first overall 2015 WNBA draft. And while Loyd has been building a name, Marshall was also active with them for 3 seasons. But eventually took a different path.<\/p>\n

Jewell Loyd continued to make a statement through her game at the W while Natalija had been turning heads and making a different statement, a fashion one, through modelling and styling.<\/p>\n

The path taken may be different, but once it crossed, the couple had been able to grow into their own branches, but linked through the same tree. And their fans see and wish only nothing but good things for them as they take the next steps.<\/p>\n

That performance pushed her past Katie Douglas for eighth place in career three-pointers. The league highlighted how her personal and professional worlds collided during the break, reporting, “At the moment, Loyd is taking an extended break as the WNBA gives way to the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. During this break, Loyd got to celebrate another ring in her personal life.”<\/p>\n

Chasing down legends like Tina Thompson and Becky Hammon remains her next big target on the court. Fans love watching veteran scorers climb the ranks as the season rolls forward. As Jewell Loyd gets set to return, her legacy as a premier perimeter threat keeps getting stronger.<\/p>\n
