Commission details plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"&quot;byline&quot;\">by The FWR Staff, Fort Worth Report <br \/>September 5, 2026<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth\u2019s public spaces continue to change, with additions from the city\u2019s public art program.<\/p>\n<p>At the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fortworthtexas.gov\/departments\/citysecretary\/events\/fw-art-commission-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aug. 17 Fort Worth Art Commission<\/a> meeting, project managers recapped past project successes, updated ones that are underway, and discussed the 2027 Annual Work Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Continued projects in 2026:<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth Public Art, or <a href=\"https:\/\/fwpublicart.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FWPA<\/a>, also has been working on a maintenance project for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cliffgartenstudio.com\/projects\/avenue-of-light\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cAvenue of Light\u201d<\/a> on West Lancaster Avenue downtown that is \u201csubstantially completed,\u201d Michelle Richardson, FWPA project manager, told commissioners.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing projects for 2027 include:<\/p>\n<p>There are also a number of projects in fabrication, including:<\/p>\n<p>Projects in final design include:<\/p>\n<p>A few projects are in preliminary design, including <a href=\"https:\/\/fwpublicart.org\/art-in-progress\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Heritage Park<\/a> downtown, and several projects in artist selection, including <a href=\"https:\/\/fwpublicart.org\/art-in-progress\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paddock Park<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/fwpublicart.org\/art-in-progress\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Handley-Meadowbrook Community Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Projects in planning include Blue Bonnet Circle Park and Mosier Valley Park.<\/p>\n<p>After a brief introduction of the draft of the 2027 Annual Work Plan, the commission voted unanimously to approve the 2027 draft.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Neese, public art collection and project manager, updated commissioners on Public Art\u2019s collection management system, which includes a searchable public art archive that keeps track of all public art records in Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>A user can find a project by clicking on a map of all public art projects available in the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat alone, is worth its weight in gold,\u201d Neese said. \u201cYou can see all the objects \u2026 in one place instead of looking in folders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By clicking an object on the map, users receive basic information about the work, images and other related entries, such as procedures, movements and funding, Neese said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h-the-next-meeting-is-set-for-5-30-p-m-sept-21-at-ella-mae-shamblee-library-which-will-include-a-public-hearing-for-the-2027-annual-work-plan\">The next meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Ella Mae Shamblee Library, which will include a public hearing for the 2027 annual work plan.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth Art Commission Meeting<\/p>\n<p>Documenter: Wendy L.
