A man armed with a wooden pole has allegedly attacked a staff member and smashed windows during a violent incident at a gym in southern Western Australia.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Detectives and forensics officers have spent much of the day at BodyCare Health Club in Albany, 400 kilometres south of Perth, since the incident on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
Police said the man entered the gym at about 10:15am, where he threatened and assaulted the male staff member.<\/p>\n

“The man used the pole to smash the front glass door of the premises, and other items in the gym,” a WA Police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
“He also damaged a vehicle that was parked in the gym’s car park.”<\/p>\n
A St John Ambulance spokesperson said two people were taken to hospital after the incident, one via ambulance and one via private vehicle.<\/p>\n
The ABC understands neither person suffered serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Gym owner Amber Cekerevac said it was an unfortunate incident that was unrelated to any staff or members of the gym.<\/p>\n
The man, aged in his 30s, was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
