The visitors\u00a0pulled one back with\u00a0a late penalty, but the Galaxy came away with all three points on the night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LA\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Marco Reus,\u00a011th minute:<\/strong>\u00a0After\u00a0Ky\u014dgo\u00a0earned a penalty following a one-on-one opportunity in the box, Reus converted from the spot with a finish down the middle to put the Galaxy ahead 1-0.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LA\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Robert Taylor\u00a0(Hirving Lozano, Marco Reus),\u00a033rd\u00a0minute:<\/strong>\u00a0After building out of the back, Sergi Roberto found Reus down the left flank before Lozano&#8217;s cutback\u00a0picked out\u00a0Taylor in the center of the box. Composure on the ball, finding solutions.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0the\u00a0choices. You\u00a0see\u00a0tonight; you see Sergi, and you see Pablo Ruiz. When they make passes, the passes are with intention. The passes at times are almost\u00a0un-pressable, and\u00a0it puts the other team in a pausing situation sometimes, where you can\u00a0maintain\u00a0possession and give each other a little bit more time on the ball.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0what you get out of guys who have been around for a while, and they understand how to manipulate with the ball and not just play with the ball. Sergi was that for us, getting us out of situations. He and Marco\u00a0[Reus], at times, being able to combine. The sense of where to move so\u00a0that\u00a0you&#8217;re\u00a0creating questions for the defensive team, and then everybody can\u00a0move\u00a0off\u00a0of\u00a0those types of things.\u00a0So\u00a0he creates, again, clarity for other\u00a0guys, sometimes starting\u00a0from the back to the front, and\u00a0so\u00a0I\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0really want to take him off.\u00a0But\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0a\u00a0process to get him fit and to get him to where he needs to be to maximize his minutes. What he gives us in game reading on the defensive side and being able to make good choices and organize and help.\u00a0Help other guys around to keep them in good spots and make good decisions.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0the conductor, somebody who ties the team together\u00a0with and without the ball, from that lower part of the field in the midfield. You need somebody who kind of ties the team together in that way, and I feel like he\u00a0does\u00a0a nice\u00a0job\u00a0of\u00a0doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0making a run for the playoffs with new, yet\u00a0veteran,\u00a0players:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s\u00a0not over. We still have ten to go.\u00a0I think it&#8217;s really tight in the West.\u00a0I\u00a0haven&#8217;t\u00a0looked at the table tonight, but I know\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0tight in the West, and you just got to\u00a0get on\u00a0a little bit of a run. Because each of these players has experience, has\u00a0a high level\u00a0of just field and game awareness, nuance, different things,\u00a0I feel like that gives you the best chance to try to get this thing rolling as quickly as possible. Otherwise, you want more time, but at the end of the day, I think these guys will quickly find that rhythm with one another. So again,\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0in the process of still\u00a0getting guys totally match fit with Chucky\u00a0and with everybody, and\u00a0so\u00a0there&#8217;s\u00a0a combination of things. But our team is deeper now.\u00a0We&#8217;ve\u00a0got more guys that can come in and have an impact on the game at the different lines, whether\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0in the back line, midfield, or in the front line.\u00a0And\u00a0we&#8217;re\u00a0getting more guys back with Lucas\u00a0[Calegari]\u00a0or coming in with\u00a0Lucas\u00a0and Klauss\u00a0should be back soon, very soon.\u00a0And Elijah [Wynder] eventually\u00a0coming\u00a0back, things like that. There&#8217;s still strength\u00a0with who&#8217;s\u00a0returning, and again, find a rhythm and get momentum.\u00a0That&#8217;s\u00a0one\u00a0of the\u00a0big\u00a0things\u00a0in this league that can help carry you from match to match.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0how he\u00a0integrates a young player\u00a0like\u00a0Harbor\u00a0into the lineup with the importance of not making crucial mistakes:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just think that&#8217;s part of his learning, part of his development.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0just understanding that the game is 90\u00a0minutes, and\u00a0being solid for 90 minutes. He gives so much to the attacking side of the game that when you get to\u00a090 minutes\u00a0and a ball gets curled into the\u00a0box,\u00a0it becomes a difficult play. And sometimes I\u00a0wonder if\u00a0how much he gives to the attack can leave him just a touch vulnerable. Last week in San Diego, he made runs and so reattaching\u00a0to the back line early enough so that the ball that gets curled in or those two balls where he&#8217;s in position to make the play sort of becomes a challenge for him.\u00a0It also becomes a challenge if your back line is really far away versus if the back line can stay a little closer then these guys recovering and rejoining their responsibility, which is the line, becomes a lot easier.\u00a0So\u00a0we can help him by our\u00a0line\u00a0not just dropping so fast sometimes.\u00a0Just recognizing his priorities at any given moment, and through the context of the game, I think he&#8217;ll learn when he needs to be aggressive, attacking-wise, and at what points in the game should he just not be so aggressive, attacking-wise, and make sure that he realizes the priority is defensive, to see a game out, for example.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0part of the learning process, and you learn in the biggest games because they have the biggest consequences sometimes. Good, bad, and indifferent\u2014that&#8217;s\u00a0where you do a lot of learning.\u00a0I&#8217;m\u00a0pleased with his progress.\u00a0He&#8217;s\u00a0doing\u00a0a great job, and as I said, always with Harbor,\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0just going to be continuing to learn some of these defensive parts of the game that\u00a0he&#8217;s\u00a0going to get better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>LA Galaxy\u00a0Midfielder Sergi Roberto<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0his thoughts and impressions of the team and the\u00a0MLS in his first couple games:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m\u00a0happy to be here. It was\u00a0very important\u00a0after the first game that we\u00a0get\u00a0the three\u00a0points.\u00a0So\u00a0to do\u00a0a good performance,\u00a0I think the team\u00a0performed well from the beginning of the game, first half two nil. From here,\u00a0I think we\u00a0need to keep building, keep going, and I believe in the team. I think we must make it to the playoffs. So\u00a0good\u00a0win for the team today. Then,\u00a0[MLS] a little\u00a0bit different. More the\u00a0rhythm maybe, sometimes\u00a0kind of slower\u00a0than in Europe. But then sometimes in the second half teams become very long, so\u00a0more\u00a0spaces,\u00a0and\u00a0also\u00a0more counter attacks.\u00a0So\u00a0yeah,\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0a little bit different. I need to still adjust a little bit, but\u00a0yeah, so far so good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0how he\u00a0feels after getting so much praise from the coach and his teammates:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am\u00a0very happy,\u00a0very grateful\u00a0for the trust of the coach and the club that trusted me to come here, and for the trust of my teammates. And well, I can say the\u00a0same\u00a0about my teammates and the coach. I am\u00a0very happy\u00a0to be here. Pressure? No, pressure is ultimately when things are going badly, when you are not doing well. But well, when everyone speaks well of you, you\u00a0shouldn&#8217;t\u00a0believe it either because football goes like that, up and down.\u00a0So\u00a0you have to keep working, and I am here to help the\u00a0team,\u00a0to help the club.\u00a0As I said before, we have to reach the playoffs at one hundred percent, and I fully believe in that.\u00a0I think we\u00a0have a team of\u00a0great quality, of\u00a0great players, and I am sure we will make the playoffs and from there, well, fight for everything.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0joining MLS and being a part of the most historic club:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been following the league for many years; when I was at Bar\u00e7a, one of my goals was to reach this league because I have always liked the sports culture here in the United States, and I have always wanted to come. In recent years, when Riqui\u00a0came, and then my teammates and friends Leo, Luis, Jordi, and Busi went to Miami, I followed it even more. Now\u00a0Antoine\u00a0[Griezmann], Robert Lewandowski, and many players are here in the league. So, I am\u00a0very happy\u00a0to be able to be\u00a0here\u00a0too. And besides, at the most historic club in the league, which is the\u00a0Galaxy, so\u00a0it\u00a0couldn&#8217;t\u00a0be better. So, I am\u00a0very happy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>LA Galaxy Forward Robert Taylor<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0adapting to the team after arriving in the middle of the season:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersonally, I feel like I picked things up and adapted to the team\u00a0pretty fast. The team welcomed me and gave me the confidence to express myself on the field. I\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0feel like there was any\u00a0time period\u00a0where I felt like I\u00a0needed\u00a0to start adapting or needed\u00a0to build anything up. I feel like the team gave me the opportunity to do it\u00a0immediately.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0the level of play improving after the transfer window:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that it\u00a0comes from the training ground. I feel like the competition and the level has gone up there, and then\u00a0everyone&#8217;s\u00a0obviously playing for their spot in the starting eleven.\u00a0So,\u00a0I think in any healthy team,\u00a0there&#8217;s\u00a0going to be a lot of competition and a lot of quality.\u00a0So,\u00a0I think\u00a0that&#8217;s\u00a0what we could see tonight, that everyone gave their all, and when the guys are coming off the bench,\u00a0that\u00a0level just keeps, if not keeps going higher.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0playing for the Galaxy and scoring his first goal\u00a0in over a year:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying for the Galaxy is a huge honor.
