The eatery opened its doors on Aug. 31.

Goop Kitchens have been around since 2021 as a delivery- and takeout-only option, founded by actress Gwyneth Paltrow who started the wellness and lifestyle brand Goop in 2008. There are 16 Goop Kitchens in California and three in New York, however, Carmel Valley’s location is the brand’s first-ever dine-in restaurant.

Located in the former Tender Greens space at One Paseo, an outdoor patio for al-fresco dining is dotted with charming black and white umbrellas with scalloped edges. The eatery’s interior is crisp and classic, all fresh white with luxe marble details, booths with striped upholstery, lots of greenery and the waitstaff is dressed to match in green striped shirts.

The menu includes salads, bowls, hand-held wraps, soups, pizza and pasta.

One of Goop Kitchen’s bestselling and most loved favorite salads is the Brentwood Chicken Salad, packed with organic chicken, bok choy, cabbage, snow peas, green onion and avocado, watermelon radish, cilantro, grain-free “wontons,” toasted quinoa, roasted almonds, all topped with a carrot-ginger vinaigrette.

All of the sauces and marinades used in the dishes are made in-house and are free of processed sugars, processed foods, gluten, dairy, corn, peanuts or preservatives. The chicken and turkey is all organic and free-range and the salmon sourced from Norway.

The pizza is free of gluten but promises to be big on taste. The nine pizzas on the menu include barbecue chicken, Margherita, a “grown up” pepperoni, (playfully named Pepperoni Potts after Paltrow’s “Iron Man” character) and The Hot Bianca, a white pie with broccolini and turkey sausage. The A Pizza Summer features summer squash, blistered tomatoes, pesto and arugula with fontina and mozzarella cheeses.

While the dine-in option makes Carmel Valley’s kitchen so unique, food delivery and take-out are still available. People can order ahead off the menu or build their own meals with à la carte options like whole or half roasted chicken, roasted cauliflower, herb-roasted salmon, spiced chickpeas and mushroom carnitas and a selection of sauces and sides like Greek beet and orzo salad or garlic roasted Japanese sweet potatoes.

Goop Kitchen is open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 3745 Paseo Place, Carmel Valley.
