{"id":1046986,"date":"2026-09-06T13:45:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T13:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1046986\/"},"modified":"2026-09-06T13:45:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T13:45:17","slug":"alan-cumming-lands-third-straight-emmy-for-best-reality-tv-host","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1046986\/","title":{"rendered":"Alan Cumming Lands Third Straight Emmy for Best Reality TV Host"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/alan-cumming\/\" id=\"auto-tag_alan-cumming_1\" data-tag=\"alan-cumming\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Cumming<\/a> has extended his reign as the ruler of reality TV.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCumming took home the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/2026-creative-arts-emmys-winners-list-night-one-1236683725\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">2026 Emmy<\/a> for outstanding host for a reality or reality competition program, which was handed out at Saturday\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/creative-arts-emmys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_creative-arts-emmys_1\" data-tag=\"creative-arts-emmys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Creative Arts Emmys<\/a> ceremony in downtown Los Angeles. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-traitors\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-traitors_1\" data-tag=\"the-traitors\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Traitors<\/a> host was nominated in the category against RuPaul (host of RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race), Kristen Kish (Top Chef), Ariana Madix (Love Island USA) and Jeff Probst (Survivor).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHe was not in attendance to accept his award, and presenter Johnny Bananas \u2014 a former contestant on The Traitors \u2014 took the trophy on his behalf, joking that he wasn\u2019t going to hand over the Emmy \u201cuntil you bring me back on the show\u201d after he got kicked off early. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCumming has won the category the previous two years, after breaking RuPaul\u2019s eight-year winning streak in 2024; among the group of veteran hosts, Madix is the newcomer to the category, landing her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/ariana-madix-first-emmy-nom-love-island-usa-host-1236641575\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">first nom<\/a> this year as face of Peacock\u2019s mega hit dating show. The Traitors is up for seven <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/emmys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_emmys_1\" data-tag=\"emmys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emmys<\/a> this year, including reality competition program, production design, cinematography, costumes, picture editing and directing, and picked up several wins during Saturday night\u2019s ceremony; the show has 17 total nominations over the course of its history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Creative Arts Emmys are a two-day affair that see over 100 mostly below-the-line Emmys handed out between the dual ceremonies at the Peacock Theater. These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards_1\" data-tag=\"awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">awards<\/a> are not televised, and take place ahead of the Primetime Emmys show on Sept. 14. The 78th\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/emmy-awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_emmy-awards_1\" data-tag=\"emmy-awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emmy Awards<\/a>,\u00a0hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will air live on NBC and stream on Peacock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Alan Cumming has extended his reign as the ruler of reality TV.
