JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Jacksonville Waves guard Shyanne Sellers was called up to the WNBA\u2019s Los Angeles Sparks as a developmental player on Aug. 31, 2026. <\/p>\n
She is the first player in Waves franchise history and the fourth player from the UPSHOT League to earn a call-up to the WNBA.<\/p>\n
Sellers averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 30.7 minutes per game for Jacksonville during the inaugural UPSHOT season. She ranked third in the league in assists, averaging 3.7 per contest. <\/p>\n
In Jacksonville\u2019s 81-76 championship loss to the Charlotte Crown, Sellers recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.<\/p>\n
Sellers is a native of Aurora, Ohio and previously played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins.<\/p>\n
The other UPSHOT League players who received call-ups are Michelle Onyiah to the Indiana Fever, Christyn Williams to the Dallas Wings and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda to the Los Angeles Sparks.<\/p>\n
The UPSHOT League began play in May 2026. <\/p>\n
The Waves are a professional women\u2019s basketball franchise based in Jacksonville, Fla., and play home games at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena. <\/p>\n
