SAN ANTONIO – Police were investigating after officers found a deceased man under a bridge following a call reporting a possible body.<\/p>\n
Around 8 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to the scene of a reported body found near the corner of South Laredo Street and South Alamo Street, near Downtown.<\/p>\n
According to a statement provided at the scene, officers were dispatched \u201cby an unknown caller\u201d who reported, \u201cthere may potentially be a body laying under the bridge.\u201d Officers arrived and \u201cfound a man face down very early on in the investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man \u201cis deceased, and he\u2019s been pronounced by SAFD and EMS,\u201d the statement said. The medical examiner was also at the scene, and a follow-up unit had just arrived.<\/p>\n
Investigators said it was still unclear whether the death was a homicide or due to natural causes. \u201cUnknown whether potential homicide or something of more natural causes, but he appears to be homeless,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
When asked whether it appeared the man had been there for a while, the statement said, \u201cIt does,\u201d adding that \u201cbased on the evidence right now around his body,\u201d it looked like he \u201chas been there for some time.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man was described as middle-aged. \u201cMaybe if I had to put a number to him, maybe 40, maybe late 40,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
