{"id":104814,"date":"2025-07-30T12:42:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T12:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/104814\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T12:42:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T12:42:11","slug":"juan-soto-exits-game-with-foot-injury-in-major-mets-worry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/104814\/","title":{"rendered":"Juan Soto exits game with foot injury in major Mets worry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN DIEGO \u2014 Juan Soto, a rock who has played in 107 of 108 games in Year One of his $765 million contract with the Mets, had to be removed from game 108 with what the team called a foot contusion.<\/p>\n<p>The Mets will cross their fingers that Soto won\u2019t be out for an extended amount of time after he smashed a foul ball off his left, back foot in the fourth inning of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/30\/sports\/mets-crumble-in-loss-to-padres-as-they-hold-their-breath-after-juan-soto-scare\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mets\u2019 7-1 loss to the Padres<\/a> at Petco Park.<\/p>\n<p>Soto was in obvious pain and hobbled his way halfway to first base before taking a knee, with a trainer and manager Carlos Mendoza running out to check on him.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36683699\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AP_Mets_Padres_Baseball_00169-75f32-0.jpg\" alt=\"New York Mets' Juan Soto reacts after fouling a ball off his leg while batting during the fourth inning of a baseball game against the San Diego Padres Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in San Diego.\" class=\"wp-image-36683699\"  \/>Juan Soto grimaces after fouling a ball off his foot while batting during the fourth inning of the Mets-Padres game on July 29, 2025. AP<\/p>\n<p>After several minutes of examination, Soto initially remained in the game to finish his at-bat.
