Korn<\/a> have recorded drums for their upcoming 15th studio album.<\/p>\n

During drummer Ray Luzier\u2019s recent appearance on YouTube channel Drumeo, his drum tech, Mark Bennett, shows off Luzier\u2019s setup and lets slip that he\u2019s tracked his parts for the follow-up to 2022\u2019s Requiem<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what we just finished recording the new record with,\u201d Bennett says while lifting a Pearl Copper Free Floating snare. \u201cThey discontinued this drum. You can\u2019t get it anymore. Thankfully, we have five of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bennett doesn\u2019t offer any more details on the upcoming album, including whether or not other members of the pioneering Bakersfield nu metal<\/a> band have recorded yet.<\/p>\n

Updates on Korn\u2019s new album have been thin on the ground, but in April the five-piece released Reward The Scars<\/a>, their first new song in four years, in collaboration with role-playing video-game Diablo IV and its expansion pack Lord Of Hatred. Talking to Loudwire in February, guitarist Brian \u201cHead\u201d Welch said that the band were in no rush to put out another record.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really love the fact that it\u2019s taking a long time,\u201d he said. \u201cI always told management that I wish that we would wait a little bit between albums. We\u2019re just so addicted to the studio that we get in there and we\u2019re putting albums out every two or three years, ever since I rejoined. And so I love that there\u2019s been delays.\u201d<\/p>\n

Korn\u2019s impending album will be their first without longtime bassist Reginald \u201cFieldy\u201d Arvizu, who parted ways with the band shortly after recording Requiem. On the Shady Characters podcast earlier this year, he revealed that his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine, and his resultant inability to tour internationally, caused the split.<\/p>\n

\u201cCOVID happened,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s it. I\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019m not going out there.\u2019 That\u2019s what happened, \u2019cause it was new. Now. I didn\u2019t get vaccinated or anything \u2013 but when you reflect on it, that\u2019s what happened. They\u2019re like, \u2018We\u2019re going to Florida,\u2019 and I\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019m not going to get vaccinated. I\u2019m not going.\u2019 I go, \u2018People, this is weird right now.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though Korn have yet to announce their new album, they\u2019ve confirmed a headline run across Europe<\/a>, their first time touring the continent in more than a decade, from October to November. The shows kick off Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart on October 18 and conclude at the Unipol Forum in Milan on November 21.<\/p>\n
