{"id":104957,"date":"2025-07-30T13:57:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T13:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/104957\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T13:57:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T13:57:12","slug":"bradley-cooper-is-this-thing-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/104957\/","title":{"rendered":"Bradley Cooper Is This Thing On?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/new-york-film-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_new-york-film-festival_1\" data-tag=\"new-york-film-festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Film Festival<\/a> has selected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/bradley-cooper\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bradley-cooper_1\" data-tag=\"bradley-cooper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bradley Cooper<\/a>\u2018s Is This Thing On? as its closing night film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe movie, which Cooper directed and co-wrote and stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/will-arnett\/\" id=\"auto-tag_will-arnett_1\" data-tag=\"will-arnett\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Will Arnett<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/laura-dern\/\" id=\"auto-tag_laura-dern_1\" data-tag=\"laura-dern\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laura Dern<\/a>, will have its world premiere on Friday, Oct. 10 at Lincoln Center\u2019s Alice Tully Hall on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Searchlight film follows Arnett and Dern\u2019s married couple as they divorce and embark upon midlife self-examinations, as Arnett\u2019s character makes a dramatic career pivot to become a confessional stand-up comedian in New York City\u2019s West Village, where he finds a new purpose and community. Inspired by the true story of British comedian John Bishop, Is This Thing On? features a screenplay co-written by Arnett and Mark Chappell with Cooper. The cast includes Andra Day, Christine Ebersole, Ciar\u00e1n Hinds, Sean Hayes, Peyton Manning and Amy Sedaris.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCooper previously directed the acclaimed A Star Is Born and Maestro, the latter of which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/bradley-cooper-attends-maestro-premiere-2023-ny-film-festival-1235607055\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had its North American premiere as part of the 2023 New York Film Festival.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe are honored and humbled to premiere our film at the New York Film Festival,\u201d Cooper said in a statement. \u201cEarlier this year we had the wonderful opportunity to shoot this story all throughout the city, so it\u2019s very exciting to debut it on the closing evening of the festival. NYC injects an energy into every aspect of filmmaking that just can\u2019t be replicated. I have attended many premieres at NYFF over the years and to have the support and belief in our film from [NYFF artistic director] Dennis Lim and his team is an enormous thing for us. Thank you! On behalf of Will, Laura and the entire cast and crew\u2014we can\u2019t wait!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLim added, \u201cWe are thrilled to close the festival with Bradley Cooper\u2019s delightful third feature.
