(KOLN) – Nebraska fans started to return home on Monday with an experience they weren’t expecting. Nebraska volleyball’s match against Missouri at Wrigley Field was suspended because the court was slick due to condensation. However fans still had a good time.

Marcus Johnson, one of the many Nebraska fans, was looking forward to seeing Nebraska volleyball in action for the first time.

“I just felt like the whole experience kind of symbolized Husker Nation, including volleyball and fans and the state in multiple ways,” Johnson said.

Just 18 points of play, game officials decided that the court was too slick for either team to play, suspending the game.

“You could just tell they’re like skating on ice at times it looked like,” Jon Miller, a Nebraska volleyball fan, said.

Fans at Wrigley Field weren’t necessarily celebrating, but still walked away with unforgettable memories thanks to the players who competed in dance battles and sang karaoke during delays.

“That was a lot of fun. The two teams both kind of put on a show for us anyway,” Dan Clevenger, a Nebraska volleyball fan, said.

“That was very cool, and it helped pass the time,” Johnson said.

For Dianne and Adam Hall, the experience was worth the money.

“I don’t feel cheated because it just was such an awesome environment to be in,” Dianne said. “We’re really bummed that we didn’t get to watch and play, but oh my goodness, that was phenomenal energy in there.”

No matter the weather, one thing is certain: Where Nebraska plays, fans aren’t far behind.

“It’s just nice to be a Nebraskan because we support our team so wholeheartedly,” Clevenger said. “That was pretty fun, really.
