OPIN is a labor advocacy group based in the Southern and Southwestern United States.

Labor Day was partly founded in reaction to the 1894 Pullman strikes, which protested the layoff of 2,000 Pullman Palace Car Company railroad workers and the cutting of their wages. The holiday was recognized by labor unions as early as the 1880s, but it became a federal holiday in 1894 as a conciliatory gesture to labor organizers, according to Britannica.

PHOENIX — Freeway commuters making their way east and west on Labor Day encountered two big white signs with…

[5131
5229,5643,1587,1589,420894,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
post-1050910","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-phoenix","tag-america","tag-arizona","tag-az","tag-phoenix","tag-state-regional","tag-united-states","tag-united-states-of-america","tag-unitedstates","tag-unitedstatesofamerica","tag-us","tag-usa
["GET
