Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has told the press that Ademola Lookman \u201chas been expressing a desire to leave for some time\u201d and that \u201cInter are a very friendly club\u201d amid rumours linking the Nerazzurri with a move for the Nigerian forward.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the presentation of new left-back Honest Ahanor, with quotes via Corriere dello Sport<\/a>, Percassi described Lookman as \u201ca player expected to leave this summer, in line with the club\u2019s philosophy of one key sale per year\u201d but confessed \u201cthe transfer market brings surprises and you all know what happened with Retegui.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mateo Retegui signed for Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah<\/a> earlier this month in a deal worth a reported \u20ac65 million. This means there is less pressure on La Dea to offer discounts for Lookman, as Inter maintain a firm interest.<\/p>\n

Percassi: \u2018Inter submitted first offer for Lookman; we will see\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

Percassi discussed Inter\u2019s move for Lookman, confessing that \u201cFor Lookman, despite a lot of interest, there had never been anything concrete, at least not until yesterday when the first official offer arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw Marotta yesterday at the Lega offices. We have a great relationship, both personally and professionally. In the coming days, we will calmly evaluate the offer we have received and then provide a response. All I can say is that the timing and value of Atalanta players leaving are decisions made solely by the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yesterday, we revealed<\/a> that Inter\u2019s latest offer for Lookman is still below La Dea\u2019s \u20ac50 million asking price for the forward. Inter\u2019s first proposal was a reported \u20ac42 million plus \u20ac3 million in bonuses.<\/p>\n
