One lane of traffic is moving on eastbound Highway 50 near Howe Avenue, following a standoff situation on the highway in Sacramento on Tuesday afternoon. <\/p>\n
The law enforcement activity may be related to a deadly shooting nearby on Howe Avenue, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. <\/p>\n
LiveCopter 3 footage after 3:20 p.m. showed law enforcement personnel surrounding a stopped vehicle with their guns drawn. Surveillance drones could be seen hovering close to the car to assist law enforcement. <\/p>\n

Later, law enforcement personnel could be seen banging out the vehicle\u2019s windows and then removing someone from the vehicle. The person appears to be dead. <\/p>\n
LIVE | Highway 50 is closed for police activity in SacramentoWatch on<\/a><\/p>\n Westbound traffic is moving again. <\/p>\n See our traffic map<\/a>. <\/p>\n The traffic closure may be connected to a deadly shooting near a Panera Bread on Howe Avenue. <\/p>\n The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said that at approximately 3 p.m., a shooting was reported in the 800 block of Howe Avenue. <\/p>\n Deputies found one person who was unresponsive. The Fire Department pronounced the person dead at the scene.<\/p>\n The sheriff’s office said an active investigation was underway, and the vehicle stop on Highway 50 was “possibly related.”<\/p>\n KCRA 3’s Denzen Cortez reported that investigators were focused on the corner of Howe and Northrup Avenues near the Panera Bread. <\/p>\n Forensic photographers could be seen taking photos. <\/p>\n This was the second time Highway 50 was shut down today. <\/p>\n Early Tuesday morning, officers from three separate law enforcement agencies shot at a driver after a pursuit that ended along Highway 50 near Hazel Avenue.
