Jost spent the entirety of the 2025-26 season on the Predators lineup, playing through a one-year, two-way contract originally signed with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Predators claimed Jost off of waivers from the Hurricanes in October 2025 and deployed him for 69 games of the 2025-26 season. Jost recorded 16 points, 30 penalty minutes, and a minus-21 in those appearances. While quiet results, those marks represented an uptick for the 28-year-old forward, who spent the 2024-25 season split between Carolina\u2019s NHL and AHL rosters. The 2025-26 season was Jost\u2019s first time appearing more than half of an NHL season since the 2022-23 campaign, when he scored 22 points in 59 games with the Buffalo Sabres.<\/p>\n<p>Jost represents a depth piece for the Predators; a roster likely to lean on KHL signee <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eliteprospects.com\/player\/592160\/vitali-pinchuk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Vitali Pinchuk<\/strong><\/a> to command a bottom-six role after moving out multiple players this summer. If Pinchuk, who scored 66 points in 65 KHL games last season, can\u2019t command a role \u2013 the veteran presence of Jost could offer a reliable fallback.
