{"id":1053030,"date":"2026-09-09T13:22:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T13:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1053030\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T13:22:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T13:22:12","slug":"parwan-horror-crash-victims-named-as-community-mourns-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/1053030\/","title":{"rendered":"Parwan horror crash victims named as community mourns loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A driver reportedly swerved to avoid rocks on the road in the moments before a school run turned into a horrific rollover which killed two school-aged children.<\/p>\n<p>Cousins Ossama El Hawli, 11 and Sarah El Hawli, who was just seven, died after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled near the intersection of Nerowie and Parwan-Exford Rd in Parwan on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Five others suffered injuries in the tragedy, which happened at just before 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>7News reports that the woman who was driving has told family she swerved to avoid rocks on the road.<\/p>\n<p>A moving tribute to the pair was shared on Wednesday by the Australian Islamic Centre, confirming their identities and offering condolences to their parents. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with profound sadness that the Australian Islamic Centre mourns the passing of Ossama El Hawli (11) and Sarah El Hawli (seven), two beloved members of our community, following Tuesday\u2019s tragic accident in Parwan,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir loss has deeply affected our entire AIC community. Our hearts are with their parents, family and loved ones as they face an unimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sarah received urgent care at the scene from paramedics, but could not be saved.<\/p>\n<p>Ossama was flown to hospital with critical injuries, but died overnight.<\/p>\n<p>The pair had been picked up from school by a 34-year-old woman, along with five other youngsters, who all suffered non-life-threatening injuries. <\/p>\n<p>The woman was taken to hospital for observation.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Sergeant Tony Gentile said there \u201cpeople everywhere\u201d at the scene of the tragedy, with witnesses to the crash stopping to help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe scene was quite hectic, with family coming as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vehicle inexplicably rolled \u2013 we don\u2019t know why.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just a really sad set of circumstances, really very sad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said while investigators never exclude drugs or alcohol, neither was \u201capparent\u201d at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>Ambulance helicopter crews, intensive care and advanced life paramedics were at the scene throughout Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Police urged anyone with
