Western Avenue. The last night of service was Saturday, July 19, and the restaurant held a garage sale afterwards to sell off kitchenware. Atelier will <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.eater.com\/chicago-restaurant-news\/161065\/intel-atelier-curtis-duffy-kitchen-kocktails-signature-uno\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reemerge in a larger space<\/a> a couple of blocks away at 4544 N. Western Avenue. An opening date has not been announced. 4835 N. Western Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">PORTAGE PARK \u2014 A coffee shop near Six Corners has poured its last cup of brew for now. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartycupcafe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smarty Cup Cafe<\/a>, which had been open for less than a year and a half, announced its closure on an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DKX-KwZv7_6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram post<\/a>. The cafe says it will reopen in another location. 4944 W. Irving Park Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">RIVER NORTH \u2014 Following a <a href=\"https:\/\/blockclubchicago.org\/2025\/07\/03\/4-killed-14-wounded-in-mass-shooting-outside-river-north-restaurant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mass shooting<\/a> outside of the establishment on July 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artischicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Artis Restaurant and Lounge<\/a> has closed permanently. The incident, which killed four people and wounded 14 others, occurred following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz at the venue. Artis owners Brandi and Brittany Artis released a statement announcing the closure via a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMJOBIPSqJw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media post<\/a>, writing, \u201cOur curated space of love and acceptance was threatened by a senseless act of hate \u2026 We refuse to let hate win, and we will not let fear deter us. We will continue to grow through the pain and find ways to heal, together.\u201d The queer- and Black-owned restaurant opened this past April. 311 W. Chicago Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">SOUTH LOOP \u2014 Local pizza chain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paisanspizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paisans<\/a>, which offers thin-crust and deep-dish pies, wings, burgers, pastas, and salads, has exited the South Loop. Chicago content creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mrsouthloop\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Linardos<\/a> spotted a message, posted on the door of the restaurant, announcing the closure. P The remaining city locations are in West Lawn and Belmont Cragin; there are also outposts in the suburbs. 700 S. Clark Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">ROSEMONT \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.eater.com\/2018\/4\/18\/17251822\/bill-murray-bros-caddyshack-restaurant-chicago-rosemont-photos-images-food-menu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Murray Bros. Caddyshack<\/a>, the restaurant from Chicago-area native and actor Bill Murray, has closed. The 8,600-square-foot establishment was themed after \u201980s sports comedy film Caddyshack and opened near O\u2019Hare International Airport in 2018. In a message on its <a href=\"https:\/\/mbcshack.com\/location\/rosemont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>, the restaurant thanked customers and the local community for its support over the last seven years. A Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant had been planned for Wilmette in 2022 but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therecordnorthshore.org\/2022\/09\/05\/swing-and-a-miss-caddyshack-restaurant-pulls-out-of-former-bakers-square-site-in-wilmette\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">failed to materialize<\/a>.
