This week we take a look at how reports went in June, for neighborhoods across San Diego.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/timesofsandiego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/TOSD-Data-Story.png?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"439\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/TOSD-Data-Story.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-318430\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many reports of dumping are cleaned up the same day. Others take a few days. Here\u2019s one way to visualize it. This map shows a dot for each report, and colors each area based on how many days it took to clean things up.<\/p>\n<p>Individual cases cleaned up in a day are colored light blue. Areas with more reports, or where individual reports took more days to clean up, shift from blue to red. Use the left and right arrows to click through each Times of San Diego area, and zoom in or out any time.<\/p>\n<p>Citywide, there\u2019s plenty of variation in dumping reports.  (A few weeks ago, we looked at dumping in <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/data\/2025\/06\/10\/illegal-dumping-reports-downtown-balboa-park-barrio-logan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Downtown News<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/data\/2025\/06\/10\/illegal-dumping-reports-uptown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Uptown News<\/a>, and in the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/data\/2025\/06\/10\/illegal-dumping-ocean-beach-point-loma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peninsula Beacon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/data\/2025\/06\/10\/illegal-dumping-in-beach-bay-mission-beach-pb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beach &amp; Bay<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/data\/2025\/06\/10\/illegal-dumping-reports-in-la-jolla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Jolla Village News<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofsandiego.com\/data\/2025\/06\/10\/illegal-dumping-navajo-college-area\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mission Times Courier<\/a> areas.) <\/p>\n<p>Neighborhoods in the east, southeast and uptown see some of the largest numbers of reports:<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to note: The numbers mapped here are only the reports that come in from regular requests to the city\u2019s \u201cGet It Done\u201d hotline, website and app. The full data on trash cleanup also includes thousands more cases where city workers file a \u201cself-generated\u201d cleanup report.<\/p>\n<p>So is there a trend in dumping reports overall?
