A 34-year-old man jumped to his death from the Whitney Museum in Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials and sources.<\/p>\n
The unidentified man was found on Gansevoort Street outside the ritzy Chelsea art museum just before 5:30 p.m., suffering from \u201cinjuries indicative of falling from an elevated position,\u201d according to the NYPD.<\/p>\n
EMS declared the man dead at the scene, cops said.<\/p>\n
The man committed suicide, according to sources, jumping from a perch at the lofty art house, which offers plenty of highly elevated outdoor space for visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in close contact with the authorities and assisting in any way we can. The Whitney will open on a delayed schedule at 12 pm tomorrow, Thursday, July 31st.\u201d<\/p>\n
