Jason Momoa<\/a> is getting back into character with a startling transformation.<\/p>\n

The DC superhero<\/a>, 45, took an electric shaver to his famous facial hair in a July 30 Instagram video<\/a> as he prepares to reprise his role as Duncan Idaho in the third “Dune” movie.<\/p>\n

“This is the kickoff. ‘Dune 3,'” Momoa said. Later, as he gazed at his newly unveiled jawline, he said: “Ah, only for you, Denis,” referring to director Denis Villeneuve<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Dune: Part Three<\/a>,” in production now<\/a>, is reportedly aiming for a December 2026 theatrical release with franchise stars Zendaya<\/a> and Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a>. Momoa’s 16-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa is also part of the highly anticipated sci-fi film’s cast.<\/p>\n

Momoa bent over in laughter when he was nearly halfway through the hairy effort. Later, as he saw his bare-faced reflection, he exclaimed, “Damn it, I hate it!”<\/p>\n

The “Aquaman<\/a>” and upcoming “Chief of War<\/a>” leading man noted it’s been six years since he last shaved and tied it back to his Hawaiian water brand, Mananalu, which he’d founded around the same time.<\/p>\n

As he razed off his beard and mustache, he told viewers about the work that his company has been doing to shift away from single-use plastic water bottles, remove them from the ocean and sourcing local water to cut down carbon emissions.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to remember a time that the man who played the Dothraki leader Khal Drogo in “Game of Thrones” and half-Atlantean underwater superhero in the “Aquaman” movies sported a bare face. In the first “Dune” film, which came out in 2021, Momoa’s Duncan Idaho had a visible jawline.<\/p>\n

Jason Momoa was clean-shaven for his starring role in 2011’s “Conan the Barbarian.”<\/p>\n

While details on the third installment are scarce, the father of two has opened up about the impact it’s had on son Nakoa-Wolf.<\/p>\n

“He’s in for a rude awakening is what he’s in for,” Momoa told\u00a0Extra TV<\/a> at the July 18 “Chief of War” premiere. \u201cHe\u2019s into the workforce for the first time. It\u2019s going to be good. He did it on his own. I don\u2019t want to help him, and he\u2019s done it all on his own, and good for him.”<\/p>\n

“I couldn\u2019t do what he\u2019s doing at his age. There\u2019s no way I could sit in a room with Denis Villeneuve and hold my own. I was on ‘Baywatch’ at 19. He\u2019s 16 and holding” his own with Villeneuve, Momoa added.<\/p>\n
