(Image credit: SpaceX)<\/p>\n<p>Crew-11 will send NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, along with Kimiya Yui of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/22672-japan-aerospace-exploration-agency.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/22672-japan-aerospace-exploration-agency.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">JAXA<\/a> (the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) and cosmonaut Oleg Platonov to the ISS for a roughly six-month stay. Cardman is the mission&#8217;s commander, Fincke is the pilot and Yui and Platonov are mission specialists.<\/p>\n<p>If all goes to plan, the mission&#8217;s Crew Dragon capsule, named Endeavour, will dock with the orbiting lab on Saturday (Aug. 2) around 3 a.m. EDT (0700 GMT). You&#8217;ll be able to watch that milestone live as well.<\/p>\n<p>The <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/human-spaceflight\/meet-the-spacex-crew-11-astronauts-launching-to-the-iss-on-july-31\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/human-spaceflight\/meet-the-spacex-crew-11-astronauts-launching-to-the-iss-on-july-31\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crew-11 astronauts <\/a>will relieve the four members of SpaceX&#8217;s Crew-10, who <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/international-space-station\/spacex-crew-10-astronaut-mission-international-space-station-docking\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/international-space-station\/spacex-crew-10-astronaut-mission-international-space-station-docking\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arrived at the ISS in March<\/a>. Crew-10 will head home to Earth a few days after Crew-11 docks.<\/p>\n<p>As its name suggests, Crew-11 will be the 11th operational astronaut mission <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18853-spacex.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18853-spacex.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SpaceX<\/a> flies to and from the ISS under its contract with NASA&#8217;s Commercial Crew Program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Breaking space news, the latest updates on rocket launches, skywatching events and more!<\/p>\n<p>The company has more human spaceflights under its belt than that, however; it flew a crewed test mission to the station in 2020, for example, and has also launched seven private astronaut missions to orbit.<\/p>\n<p>Crew-11 will be the first spaceflight for Cardman and Platonov, the second for Yui and the fourth for Fincke.
