Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim was questioned about signing Benjamin Sesko after the dominant pre-season victory over Bournemouth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Transfer news this week has been dominated by stories that Manchester United have opened talks with Benjamin Sesko<\/a> over a possible summer move.<\/p>\n

Sesko is expected to cost around \u00a364m<\/a> this summer, and Ineos are pushing ahead with their efforts to sign the 22-year-old RB Leipzig striker.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s search for a striker was initially narrowed down to either Benjamin Sesko<\/a> or Aston Villa\u2019s Ollie Watkins, but it seems Ineos have sided with Christopher Vivell and will target the Slovenian.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils maintained their unbeaten record in pre-season this summer with an emphatic 4-1 win over Bournemouth<\/a> in the early hours of Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

New signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha both missed out and watched on from the bench as United put on a brilliant performance.<\/p>\n

After the victory, Ruben Amorim<\/a> was directly asked about the transfer links to Sesko but the United boss didn\u2019t give much away.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe important thing is Rasmus is scoring goals. I don\u2019t know what will happen until the market is closed,\u201d Amorim admitted.<\/p>\n

Hojlund starred against Bournemouth<\/a>, opening the scoring with a well-guided header. There have been whispers of the 22-year-old potentially being involved in a swap deal for Sesko, but Amorim made it clear that he is very happy with the Dane.<\/p>\n

After facing heavy criticism last season, Hojlund looks determined to prove his doubters wrong this summer.<\/p>\n

His link-up play vastly improved against Bournemouth, and his goal will only boost his confidence heading into the new campaign.<\/p>\n

If Ineos push ahead with a deal to sign Sesko, he will arrive in Manchester with the same age and profile as Hojlund.<\/p>\n

Signing Sesko would be a risk for United<\/a>, but just like Hojlund, he has massive potential. Hojlund lacked competition last season and ended up being overused as Amorim\u2019s only real option up front.<\/p>\n

But Sesko and Hojlund together could compete and push each other to fulfil their exciting potential. Ineos might want to hold off on a potential swap deal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
