{"id":108004,"date":"2025-07-31T16:41:13","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T16:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/108004\/"},"modified":"2025-07-31T16:41:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T16:41:13","slug":"dog-walker-finds-skull-believed-to-be-missing-head-of-south-australia-alleged-murder-victim-south-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/108004\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog walker finds skull believed to be missing head of South Australia alleged murder victim | South Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">A human skull found in scrubland by a person pursuing a wandering dog is believed to be the missing head of alleged murder victim Julian Story.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Authorities had been searching for the head of Story, 39, since his dismembered body was discovered in the South Australian town of Port Lincoln on 19 June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">On Thursday, a resident told police they had found a skull in scrub, Det Supt Darren Fielke said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">\u201cPreliminary investigations and phone calls to the forensic science centre have provided information that the remains are most likely human and I believe they are the remains of Julian Story,\u201d the major crime officer-in-charge said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Former Beauty and the Geek reality TV contestant Tamika Sueann Rose Chesser, 34, has been charged with Story\u2019s murder. She was arrested on 19 June after Story\u2019s body was found at the couple\u2019s home at Port Lincoln, on the Eyre peninsula.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/email-newsletters?CMP=copyembed&amp;CMP=emailbutton\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sign up: AU Breaking News email<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">On 27 June, Fielke issued a plea for public help \u201cbecause tragically, we have not recovered the head of Julian Story\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">He said major crime officers had been redeployed to Port Lincoln after the discovery of the skull on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">\u201cMy understanding is that the person who contacted us today was walking their dog in that area,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">\u201cThe dog ran off into the scrub. The dog didn\u2019t come back when called. A police guard had been placed on the site with more searches planned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Chesser appeared in Port Lincoln magistrates court on Thursday via video link from James Nash House, a psychiatric facility in Adelaide.
