{"id":108501,"date":"2025-07-31T21:05:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T21:05:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/108501\/"},"modified":"2025-07-31T21:05:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T21:05:11","slug":"ios-26-code-leaks-new-home-app-feature-integrated-with-maps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/108501\/","title":{"rendered":"iOS 26 code leaks new Home app feature integrated with Maps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/apple-home-maps.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Apple\u2019s Home app hasn\u2019t had any new publicized features in iOS 26 yet, but a code leak just revealed a new feature in the works that relies on Apple Maps\u2019 new upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Adaptive Temperature\u2019 could come to Home app, powered by new Maps features in iOS 26<\/p>\n<p>Steve Moser, in <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/stevemoser\/status\/1950685356530995592?s=61&amp;t=a-bloX1n-TZ50ofqhetO1A\" rel=\"nofollow\">a post on X<\/a>, has shared code he discovered in the iOS 26 beta that references an in-the-works Home app feature.<\/p>\n<p>That feature: Adaptive Temperature.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Adaptive Temperature&#8221; hidden in iOS 26 beta Home app<\/p>\n<p>Just as Maps learns your daily routes, HomeKit will soon learn your comings and goings (predicting when you\u2019re rolling in the driveway or headed out of town for days on end) and automatically tweak your thermostat to match.\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kmGynJWUSH\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/kmGynJWUSH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Steve Moser (@SteveMoser) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SteveMoser\/status\/1950685356530995592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">July 30, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Moser\u2019s mention of Maps learning your daily routes is a brand new iOS 26 addition.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Maps in iOS 26 has <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/07\/25\/heres-everything-new-coming-to-apple-maps-in-ios-26\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two main tentpole features<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preferred Routes<\/li>\n<li>Visited Places<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Essentially, Maps is becoming much more intelligent about your daily movements.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2384\" height=\"1332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/wwdc-2025-13.32.37.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1004786\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>These features are offered in a privacy-sensitive way, powered by on-device intelligence, protected with end-to-end encryption, and inaccessible to Apple.<\/p>\n<p>But some additional benefits of Maps\u2019 new capabilities, it seems, could be features like this new Adaptive Temperature option.<\/p>\n<p>Since iOS 26 will understand your typical movements, it makes sense that the Home app would be able to more intelligently, proactively adjust your thermostat to follow those patterns.<\/p>\n<p>How well will that work? Time will tell. The presence of this code in the iOS 26 beta is no guarantee it will ever ship, but it is a strong sign that Apple wants to roll out Adaptive Temperature in a forthcoming update.<\/p>\n<p>Would you be interested in using an Adaptive Temperature feature in the Home app?
