SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office Gang Unit has taken nearly a kilogram of the deadly synthetic opioid off the streets.<\/p>\n
Deputies intercepted a kilo of fentanyl during a series of traffic stops on Thursday, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department. Four individuals were arrested on various narcotics-related charges, one of whom is a documented gang member.<\/p>\n
Erik Adrian Gonzalez, 34, a confirmed gang member, was arrested for possession of more than 400 grams of fentanyl and an additional charge for possessing 1.9 grams of methamphetamine. Christopher Anthony Rivera, 32, was taken into custody on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance under one gram. Alan Segura, 20, was charged with possession of THC oil and a small amount of marijuana. Allyson Janelle Alvarez, 21, was also arrested for possession of 2 grams of THC oil.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe proactive work conducted by our gang unit not only removed a kilo of deadly fentanyl from our Bexar County community \u2014 more importantly, it prevented over 500,000 deadly pills that could have been laced with fentanyl from hitting our streets,\u201d the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook statement. \u201cWe are extremely proud of our deputies for making this seizure and ultimately helping keep Bexar County safer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
