The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder from Gordon, Georgia, has also been named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tallahassee.com\/story\/sports\/college\/famu\/2025\/07\/14\/famu-rattlers-football-thad-franklin-others-swac-preseason-team\/85201186007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a Preseason All-SWAC First Teamer<\/a>, FCS All-American Third Team, and a 2025 Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List member entering his redshirt senior year.<\/p>\n<p>Huggins, a cornerback, earned the preseason HBCU Player of the Year nomination after <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tallahassee.com\/story\/sports\/college\/famu\/2024\/11\/08\/famu-rattlers-football-cornerback-tj-huggins-leads-team-interceptions-swac-hbcu-sports\/75964721007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">leading FAMU with three interceptions last year<\/a>. Huggins also made the Preseason All-SWAC First Team. The Miami native will be a redshirt senior this year, too.<\/p>\n<p>FAMU football will open its 2025 season on Aug. 30 in the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tallahassee.com\/story\/sports\/college\/famu\/2025\/05\/22\/famu-rattlers-football-vs-howard-orange-blossom-classic-rivalry\/83743472007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Orange Blossom Classic versus Howard <\/a>at Miami Gardens\u2019 Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tallahassee.com\/story\/sports\/college\/famu\/2025\/07\/31\/famu-rattlers-football-2025-training-camp-what-to-know\/85333080007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Training
