Gov. Mike Dunleavy has again received treatment for basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer, his office said Thursday.<\/p>\n
An abrasion was visible on the governor\u2019s forehead when he spoke at a public event in Anchorage on Thursday. <\/p>\n
\u201cFor several years now the governor has had minor skin tumors removed,\u201d Dunleavy spokesman Jeff Turner said in an email after the event. \u201cThis time they were removed from his forehead.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHis message to all Alaskans is to make sure and use sunscreen,\u201d Turner added.<\/p>\n
The governor\u2019s office did not immediately respond to additional questions about the procedure and the governor\u2019s prognosis.<\/p>\n
Dunleavy in 2019 <\/a>also had basal cell carcinoma removed from his forehead, and then received treatment for the same condition in 2023<\/a>. It is common for the condition to recur, according to medical experts<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Gov.
