Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> has been laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion during a private ceremony that was attended by Elton John<\/a>, members of Metallica<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n

The Black Sabbath<\/a> frontman and heavy metal pioneer died aged 76 last week (July 22), just weeks after playing his final live show<\/a> in his hometown, and raising \u201ca ton\u201d of money for charity<\/a> along the way.<\/p>\n

Thousands have taken to the streets of Birmingham to leave flowers and emotional tributes to the music icon in the days since, and thousands more lined the streets yesterday (July 31) for the funeral procession<\/a> that took place.<\/p>\n

After the procession, which gave fans a final chance to say goodbye to the singer, Osbourne was reportedly laid to rest at the grounds of his mansion in Buckinghamshire. As shared by the Daily Mail<\/a>, it took place at the 250-acre estate and saw approximately 110 close family and friends in attendance.<\/p>\n

Joining his family were his Black Sabbath bandmates, and other musicians including Elton John, Marilyn Manson<\/a>, Metallica<\/a> members, Slipknot<\/a>\u2019s Corey Taylor<\/a>, Rob Zombie<\/a>, and Zakk Wylde<\/a>. Both Wylde and Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo had formerly performed with the heavy metal legend as part of his solo career.<\/p>\n

A huge floral arrangement was made in the grounds, situated near a lake and spelling out \u201cOzzy Fucking Osbourne\u201d.<\/p>\n

A report from The Sun<\/a> claims that Yungblud<\/a> gave a reading at the funeral. The two had remained close since both Ozzy and his wife Sharon appeared in the music video for his 2022 song \u2018The Funeral\u2019<\/a>, and a touching moment between them at the final live show recently went viral.<\/a><\/p>\n

In a Dear Ozzy column for The Times<\/a> in 2011, the Prince of Darkness spoke about what he wanted for his final send-off. \u201cI honestly don\u2019t care what they play at my funeral; they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber<\/a>, Susan Boyle<\/a> and We Are the Diddymen if it makes \u2019em happy\u2026 But I do want to make sure it\u2019s a celebration, not a mope-fest,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d also like some pranks: maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin; or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of \u2018death.\u2019 There\u2019ll be no harping on the bad times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zak Starkey<\/a>, Adam Sandler<\/a>, Ghost<\/a>\u2019s Tobias Forge, Alice Cooper<\/a>, Elton John<\/a>, Yungblud<\/a>, Billie Joe Armstrong<\/a>, Jack White<\/a>, Coldplay<\/a>, Gojira<\/a> and Jake E Lee<\/a> are among the countless names who shared tributes to Ozzy after hearing about his passing.<\/p>\n

Fans have also come together to call for both Birmingham Airport and a stage at Download Festival to be renamed after the late singer<\/a>. A Change.org<\/a> petition for the former got over 5,000 signees in less than two days, and currently stands at over 57,000 signatures.<\/p>\n
