Melissa Gilbert is reflecting on her past love life.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During an appearance on the \u201cI Choose Me With Jennie Garth\u201d<\/a> podcast, the \u201cLittle House on the Prairie\u201d star got candid about navigating fame from a young age and explained how dating Rob Lowe <\/a>impacted her view on relationships moving forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI guess looking back on those six years, I mean, I was such a baby when Rob and I were together,\u201d said Gilbert, who dated Lowe on and off from when she was 17 to 23. \u201cIt was very tumultuous. I felt like a bit of an old sage in the business at that point because I\u2019d been doing it for so long. And I was still on \u2018Little House on the Prairie\u2019 when we met, and it had already been years, and he was sort of starting out.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019d done a little bit of television. And so I was able to sort of sit back and watch this meteoric rise happen. I don\u2019t think I was prepared for the stuff that came with it, necessarily. I was prepared for all of having to go to premieres and things and award shows and all of that, but I wasn\u2019t prepared for the fandom and, frankly, the girls.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI always thought that every girl and woman was my sister. We\u2019re sisters, but it was not evident at all when Rob and I were a couple. I mean, it was like I didn\u2019t exist. They just pushed right past me and stuck phone numbers in his pockets and stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n Gilbert admitted that period of her life was difficult.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cTo say it was disconcerting is doing it a big disservice,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was hard and horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n A representative for Lowe did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n Melissa Gilbert opened up about her former relationship with Rob Lowe.
