There may be trouble in paradise for Bernie Winter and Dev Alahan<\/a> in upcoming scenes on Coronation Street<\/a>, but not everything is as it seems.<\/p>\n

The couple is getting ready to give Weatherfield a flamboyant wedding, though proceedings will get off to a rocky start as Dev’s decision for his stag do upsets Bernie. <\/p>\n

Following her more modest hen-do, Bernie is irked when Dev’s stag is an altogether more lavish affair, with the figure not best pleased as she catches wind that the party included some pole dancers.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the dramatic scenes, actor Jane Hazlegrove shared that her character won’t be too happy, saying: “She’s not best pleased! She has a really quiet, sedate hen-night to keep costs down.<\/p>\n

“Auntie Rani<\/a> is there, [but] they’re not getting on particularly well. Bernie’s got Gemma there obviously, and Nina, Shona and Mary. She’s finding Auntie Rani quite patronising and a little condescending so is desperately trying to keep those plates spinning.”<\/p>\n

The tense hen-do at the Bistro escalates when Glenda Shuttleworth comes in and tells Bernie there are pole dancers in the Rovers, with the character eager to discover exactly what is going on.<\/p>\n

“Bernie goes and joins them!” teased Hazlegrove, who added that the scenes were “really good fun” to film. In a further hint at what’s to come, the actor teased that Bernie won’t be “the only one pole dancing”. <\/p>\n

Though there is some humour to be found, will the incident cause friction between Dev and Bernie ahead of their big day? Or is there more drama on the way? Find out when these scenes air next week<\/a>.<\/p>\n
