\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Michael Pe\u00f1a<\/a> (End of Watch) has been tapped for a role alongside Chris Hemsworth<\/a> and Lily James<\/a> in Subversion<\/a>, the new submarine-themed action film from Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>, Deadline has learned.<\/p>\n

\n\tDetails about Pe\u00f1a\u2019s role are being kept at the bottom of the ocean. The film follows a once-promising naval commander (Hemsworth) who is blackmailed by a cartel-like organization into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters. Thrust into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, with a Coast Guard officer (James) in hot pursuit, he must outmaneuver blockades and navigate perilous threats both inside and outside the submarine.<\/p>\n

\n\tPatrick Vollrath (7500) is directing the film from a script by Andrew Ferguson. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing, with executive producers Stephen Shafer and Greg Cohen for di Bonaventura Pictures.<\/p>\n

\n\tPe\u00f1a next will be seen<\/a> opposite Sarah Snook in the series All Her Fault, an adaptation of the novel by Andrea Mara that premieres on Peacock later this year<\/a>. Known for roles in A Million Miles Away, End of Watch, American Hustle and The Martian, he\u2019ll also soon be seen starring opposite Sam Rockwell in Gore Verbinski\u2019s action-adventure flick Good Luck, Have Fun, Don\u2019t Die.
