Since Thursday’s practice was canceled, Siegrist was unable to play 5-on-5, meaning conditioning is still a potential holdup for her actually getting minutes despite being activated. It’ll be up to the medical staff for final determination before the game.<\/p>\n

Dallas is no longer eligible to sign a hardship contract, as Grace Berger’s second seven-day hardship contract expired on July 30. The Wings had relied on short-term hardship deals to offset their depleted roster but will now move forward with a full-time rotation.<\/p>\n “She’s just relentless. Relentless,” Wings head coach Chris Koclanes told Dallas Hoops Journal. “That gives us some crash presence back as well. We’re excited to get her in the mix with how the court’s been looking recently.”<\/p>\n Siegrist had been a productive contributor before her injury, averaging 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds over 11 appearances this season. She delivered her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win over the Minnesota Lynx on June 8. Her energy, floor spacing, and offensive rebounding have been missed as Dallas navigated lineup challenges during her absence.<\/p>\n “The main challenge is when it’s anything lower body or leg, just limiting the amount of pounding and not being able to run for a while,” Siegrist said. “You can’t go from zero to a hundred, even though I probably drove the trainers crazy trying to do that. I’m just looking forward to playing basketball again.”<\/p>\n The Wings (8-20) have gone 7-10 in Siegrist’s absence, struggling to find consistency amid a stretch of injuries to multiple rotation players. Friday’s game marks the end of a grueling four-games-in-six-days stretch at home. Dallas seeks to bounce back from an 88-85 loss against the Atlanta Dream, caused by a game-winning three-pointer by Naz Hillmon.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong> Caitlin Clark Facing Backlash After Fever Star’s Latest Off-Court Move<\/a><\/p>\n Siegrist expressed optimism about how the team has evolved during her time away, particularly with improved ball movement and offensive spacing.<\/p>\n “I’m super excited about the way we’re playing,” Siegrist said. “I feel like in the last five to ten games, there’s been a real shift in ball movement and more spacing. I’m excited to get out there and feel like in the five-out system, you can play almost any position.”<\/p>\n Dallas and Indiana (15-12) are set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET at American Airlines<\/a> Center.
