Each weekday, catch up on the 5 most pressing stories to start your morning in 3 minutes or less.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Topline:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>How does recycled water help? <\/b>It\u2019s a way you can conserve water <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.drought.gov\/states\/california\/county\/Los%20Angeles\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">during the drought<\/a>. Instead of using your home\u2019s water supply on your lawn or garden, you can safely replace it with recycled water, which is treated and disinfected wastewater.<\/p>\n<p><b>How does the program work? <\/b>Only LADWP customers are eligible. You must bring one of your bills from the utility and a government issued ID. You\u2019ll complete a short training at the site once and can then get up to 300 gallons per visit, using your own water-tight lid containers. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladwp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-08\/2024_Recycled-Water-Container-Option.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">You can find container suggestions here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>How long will it be open? <\/b>This location will stay open through Dec. 31, according to LADWP spokesperson Renee Vazquez. If demand rises, the utility may open more locations. The Los Angeles-Glendale spot is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Keep up with LAist.
