Serena Williams is a legend on the court, but the tennis icon has a very important role in everyday life, as well.<\/p>\n

Williams, 43, has two children with her husband, Alexis Ohanian<\/strong>. The couple has two adorable daughters: Alexis Olympia<\/strong>, 7, and Adira<\/strong>, who is almost 2.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail caught up with the couple, who headed out and about in New York City for a family stroll. Rarely spotted all together, the family looked extremely happy as they enjoyed their time in the city.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a maroon romper, black sunglasses, and toting a tiny dog, Williams looked incredibly chic as she walked alongside her husband and kids. She and Ohanian, the founder of Reddit, traded off toting Adira, while their older daughter, Alexis Olympia, appeared to carry some craft supplies.<\/p>\n

Last year, Williams explained that while she may be an athletic icon, she believes the real sign of being a star is being someone your children can count on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like everybody\u2019s a champion,” she told PEOPLE<\/a> in 2024. “You don\u2019t have to be winning Wimbledon or a gold medal to be a champion. Being a champion is really just being there for your kids. I think that\u2019s a huge champion.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, that doesn’t mean you always feel great. As an athlete, a founder of a beauty company, and a busy mom, Williams knows a thing or two about being exhausted.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a champion is understanding that you’re not going to be a champion every single day. There’s no way you can win every single day. I need to take this advice to myself,\u201d Williams said.\u00a0\u201cBut it’s really just about giving your best effort in whatever you’re doing, just do the best that you can on that day. Some days, you will be able to make a better effort. Some days, just waking up is a big effort. You just have to give what you can on that day.\u201d<\/p>\n
