\n\tAlthough Sinners<\/a> has landed among the top box office releases of 2025 so far, Machine Gun Kelly<\/a> had his reasons for passing up a role in the film.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Grammy nominee recently claimed he was \u201csupposed to\u201d audition to play a vampire in writer\/director Ryan Coogler<\/a>\u2018s critically-acclaimed supernatural period piece about two brothers taking on blood-sucking neighbors in the South.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLike Sinners, I was supposed to be in that,\u201d said Kelly on The Pat McAfee Show, according to Billboard<\/a>. \u201cThe vampire, they had me set up to do the audition \u2014 it\u2019s the one that\u2019s in the house, so he\u2019s the second vampire, the one that the guy comes and eats the family. In the audition, he has to say the \u2018n-word\u2019 and I wouldn\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKelly appeared to be referring to the character of Bert, played by Peter Dreimanis<\/a>. Married to Lola Kirke<\/a>\u2018s Joan, the couple makes the mistake of welcoming Remmick (Jack O\u2019Connell<\/a>) into their home before he turns them into vampires.<\/p>\n

\n\tMichael B. Jordan<\/a> stars in Sinners as twin WWI vet enforcer brothers, Smoke and Stack, who come home to start a blues club in 1930s Mississippi, but discover a supernatural evil waiting for them.<\/p>\n

\n\tSince premiering in April, Sinners has surpassed $365M at the global box office, before its streaming debut on HBO Max last month.<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite passing up the opportunity to appear in Sinners, Kelly is open to casting opportunities. \u201cHey dude, I\u2019d like to be in cinema while I still look young,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
