So said Dallas Mavericks<\/a> point guard Kyrie Irving on a recent livestream with content creator Kai Cenat<\/a> after he revealed his plan to go back to school and finish his degree.<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty soon I\u2019ll be back in school bro, I\u2019m gonna go get my degree,\u201d Irving told Cenat.<\/p>\n

When Cenat asked what Irving plans to study, the Mavericks\u2019 guard replied political science before elucidating an interest in psychology and economics classes.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, I want to participate in a lot of the larger conversations … I want to be able to not only just read my contracts, but I want to be able to help others,\u201d Irving said. \u201cI want to be able to give you sound advice that comes from, not just lived experience, but from education.\u201d<\/p>\n

The nine-time All-Star was a one-and-done at Duke back in 2010-11, playing just 11 games for the Blue Devils after a toe injury limited him for most of the year. He went on to be selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the top overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft.<\/p>\n

Irving\u2019s announcement comes as he\u2019s in the middle of a long recovery from a torn ACL he suffered in March<\/a>. He isn\u2019t expected back until well into the upcoming season, giving him plenty of time to hit the books in Durham when the fall semester begins on Aug. 25<\/a>.<\/p>\n
