A survey reveals public confidence in its future continues to fall.<\/p>\n<p>Straight Arrow News<\/p>\n<p>Supplemental Security Income recipients\u00a0will get two checks in August due to the payment schedule.<\/p>\n<p>SSI, which the Social Security Administration manages, provides monthly funds to qualifying people whose income and resources (such as vehicles or money in their bank accounts) are limited, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/pubs\/EN-05-11000.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SSA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Payments for August are set for Friday, Aug. 1.<\/p>\n<p>But due to how the payment schedule works, another SSI payment is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 29. This payment is for September, so SSI recipients shouldn&#8217;t expect to see a SSI payment during the actual month of September, as they&#8217;ll be receiving it later this month.<\/p>\n<p>Social Security benefits will be paid on four dates in August.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s more on the payment schedules and what recipients should know.<\/p>\n<p>Social Security overpayment: Why your check may be smaller<\/p>\n<p>Those who were previously overpaid by the Social Security Administration\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.desertsun.com\/story\/money\/2025\/06\/29\/social-security-overpayment-changes-july-2025\/84372927007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">may get smaller benefit checks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An overpayment can happen when a beneficiary fails to update a change in income, for instance, and as a result Social Security overpays them. Or the SSA can incorrectly calculate a person&#8217;s benefits.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/secure.ssa.gov\/apps10\/reference.nsf\/lnx\/04252025032443PM#:~:text=If%20the%20individual%20does%20not,or%20after%20April%2025%2C%202025.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Security Administration<\/a>\u00a0said in April it would begin sending notices to recipients who got\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.desertsun.com\/story\/money\/2025\/06\/29\/social-security-overpayment-changes-july-2025\/84372927007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">overpayments<\/a>\u00a0in the past. After sending out overpayment notices, the SSA would allow 90 days for recipients to seek a waiver or lower repayment rate. Then, the agency would begin withholding 50% of recipients&#8217; benefits until the overpayment is repaid (after approximately July 24, at the earliest).<\/p>\n<p>When are the SSI payments for August? See the SSI calendar 2025<\/p>\n<p>Supplemental Security Income checks will be sent out on the following dates in 2025, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/pubs\/EN-05-10031-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the SSA calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 (Check for January 2026)<\/li>\n<li>Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 (Check for August 2025)<\/li>\n<li>Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 (Check for September 2025)<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025 (Check for October 2025)<\/li>\n<li>Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 (Check for November 2025)<\/li>\n<li>Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 (Check for December 2025)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notice that SSI recipients will receive two checks in the same month in August, October, and December due to how the payment schedule falls.<\/p>\n<p>When do I get my Social Security? See August SSA payment schedule<\/p>\n<p>Social Security benefits are paid on four dates in August, mainly corresponding to recipients\u2019 birthdays.<\/p>\n<p>Here are those payment dates, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/pubs\/EN-05-10031-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SSA&#8217;s calendar<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Aug. 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Recipients who received Social Security before May 1997 or receive both Social Security and SSI<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aug. 13:<\/strong>\u00a0Recipients whose birth date falls between the 1st\u00a0and 10th<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aug. 20:<\/strong>\u00a0Recipients whose birth date falls between the 11th\u00a0and 20th<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aug. 27:<\/strong>\u00a0Recipients whose birth date falls between the 21st\u00a0and 31st<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How many people in Washington state receive SSI payments, Social Security?<\/p>\n<p>About 135,000 Washingtonians received SSI payments in June 2025, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/policy\/docs\/statcomps\/ssi_monthly\/2025-06\/table04.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Social Security Administration<\/a>.
