Read on for more essential Alamo City food news.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Openings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Local Cajun restaurant <strong>Mr. Crabby&#8217;s Seafood Kitchen &amp; Bar<\/strong> is scurrying to a second outpost in the former home of <strong>Tomatillo&#8217;s<\/strong>. The latter vacated the 2611 SE Military Dr.#108 shell in January, consolidating operations to Brooks. New signage on the building indicates that the new restaurant is coming soon, as early as fall. Mr. Crabby&#8217;s currently has three locations in Live Oak, Laredo, and McAllen.<\/p>\n<p>2025&#8217;s hottest restaurant trend is coming to the space formerly occupied by <strong>Dr. Banh Mi <\/strong>at 11330 Potranco Rd #101. As first reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysanantonio.com\/food\/article\/pelicana-matcha-cafe-maiko-san-antonio-20791582.php\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">MySA<\/a>, the storefront will host a concept combo pack of <strong>Pelicana Go<\/strong>, a quick-service offshoot of <strong>Pelicana Chicken<\/strong>, and <strong>Matcha Cafe Maiko<\/strong>. Combination restaurants have become all the rage in this year&#8217;s sluggish hospitality economy, ensuring foot traffic past peak dining times. On August 24 from 6-9 pm, the three restaurants will highlight sustainable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seremoni.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seremoni Seafood<\/a> in their own distinctive culinary styles. <a href=\"https:\/\/mezquitesatx.com\/august-24-mezquite-y-mariscos\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Tickets<\/a> are $45 and include a welcome cocktail.<\/p>\n<p>The San Antonio chapter of international women&#8217;s culinary nonprofit <strong>Les Dames d&#8217;Escoffier<\/strong> is celebrating its 30th birthday with a dazzling bash on September 18 at the historic Red Berry Estate. The &#8220;Greatest Sips&#8221; menu, inspired by summer bangers, includes offerings like the Chappell Roan homage Pink Pony Spritz, Shaboozey sipper A Bar Drink (Tipsy), and the throwback Naive Melody, based on the Talking Heads song.
